Law Enforcement Officers against Prostate Cancer
To Whom It May Concern:
To better serve our community and it’s veterans, members of Trenton VFW Post 12165, Trenton Local PBA 11 (Trenton Police) and Law Enforcement Officers against Prostate Cancer are teaming up to help protect our veterans. Today, many veterans are faced with mental health problems such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury as a direct result of their military service; and unfortunately, many veterans turn to suicide as a solution.
It is important to realize, that studies show each day approximately 22 veterans commit suicide because of the short and long term effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury. Another keynote is the fact that when veterans suffer, their families suffer. These facts are why we are promoting awareness and why we respectfully request your help in assisting veterans in need.
To promote and educate the community about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and other resulting tragedies, we are hosting a 2.2-mile veteran’s march on November 11, 2018, at 9:00 am (Veterans Day). The march is scheduled to begin at Cadwalader Park in Trenton, NJ and ending at the War Memorial (Patriots Theater) located at 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton, NJ. Participants can choose to: walk, military-style ruck march, run or military-style ruck run. All proceeds will be donated to veterans’ causes.
A gift of any amount made out to the Trenton VFW Post 12165 or Local PBA 11 would be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of our area troops, veterans and their families, we extend our sincerest thanks for considering this heartfelt request.
Sincerely,
Luddie H. Austin
